Clinical Research

The Clinical Research Program is for high school and college students who wish to explore the world of patient centered research. In this course we learn how to interpret clinical data by applying various biostatistical methods, develop an awareness of the ethical considerations in human subject research, and understand study design. Course completion comes with a certificate in clinical research. All students work on an individual project with a mentor. They design their poster for presentation at a medical meeting, and then publish their manuscript in a peer reviewed indexed journal as first author.

Our students have published in Archives of Dermatologic Research, Orthopedic Reviews, Journal of Craniofacial Surgery, JACEP Open, Health Psychology Research, International Journal of Emergency Medicine, Case reports in Neurology, Radiology Case Reports, BMC Psychology, Journal of the National Medical Association, and the New England Journal of Medicine, to name a few.
