The best and brightest of our FPA alumni are invited to apply for the FPA Alumni internship which is a paid internship, and requires on-campus residence. FPA interns have to have excelled in a minimum of 4 clinical courses, published at least 2 papers, and presented at a regional or national conference. Several of our FPA Alumni interns are also recipients of the American Academy of Neurology’s “AAN is rewarding Neuroscience” internship.

Vedha Dande
CORNELL UNIVERSITY
Vedha is from Houston, TX and is a rising sophomore at Cornell University studying Biological Sciences with a concentration in Neurobiology and Behavior. Interested in pursing a career in pediatric medicine, she engages in the field through conducting child developmental psychology research and leading health education initiatives for children in underserved populations.
At FPA, she conducted orthopedic research and received the SAEM 2024 “Best of Show Abstract” Award. She has also been recognized with a Congressional Commendation from the U.S. House of Representatives for her leadership and has conducted research at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. Of all her summer experiences, her time at FPA has been the most transformative.
Outside of school, Vedha loves hanging out with friends, shopping, running long distance, and spending time in nature. She can’t wait for another sunny summer in Florida!

Pranay Gadikota
HARVARD UNIVERSITY
Pranay is originally from Gainesville, FL, and is an incoming freshman at Harvard University, where he’ll be concentrating in neuroscience with a secondary in global health and health policy. He has a strong interest in caregiving research and advocacy for caregivers through the American Association for Caregiving Youth.
Pranay is a National Merit Scholar and U.S. Presidential Scholar Finalist. he’s also an accomplished violinist, has performed at Carnegie Hall via the American Protégé International Concerto Competition and is the 2026 David Hubbell Concerto Competition Winner.
He’s passionate about making medicine accessible for people who are often overlooked, and as an FPA alum, he’s thrilled to be back this summer for more of the fun and good times.
Outside of class, you can find Pranay playing violin, glued to a Lakers game, grinding 2K, or out on the tennis court. -
Tori Baer
WAYNE STATE BS-MD PROGRAM
Tori was born in Karlsruhe, Germany, but has called Florida home for the past ten years. Tori got into numerous BSMD programs, and decided on Wayne State, which only accepts 10 students a year. She is pursuing a degree in Biological Sciences with current interests in nano-oncology and public health.
For Tori, medicine has always been driven by people, not just science. As an immigrant living in a rural area, she hopes to make the medical system as accessible as possible for everyone, and she sees FPA as the perfect place to grow.
A creative at heart, you can always find Tori with her nose buried in a good book, browsing a contemporary art museum, or scribbling down poems about whatever is on her mind. She is absolutely thrilled to return to FPA this summer and cannot wait to meet everyone! -
Ethan Nichols
COLGATE UNIVERSITY
Ethan is from Orlando, Florida, where he’s lived his whole life. He’s a rising junior at Colgate University, studying Molecular Biology and English. He’s hoping to pursue a career in emergency medicine, with a strong interest in the fast-paced, hands-on nature of emergency care.
As an FPA alum and 2-time intern, Ethan is beloved at FPA. Ethan is very excited to be back this summer and to help create a learning environment that’s both engaging and genuinely fun for everyone involved.
Outside of all the academics, Ethan loves to run his energy out whether on the basketball courts or by simply running around. Either that or he’s unwinding with some video games or trying to assimilate in nature.

Sofia Haddadin
JOHNS HOPKINS UNIVERSITY
Sofia is originally from Madison, Connecticut, but has called Florida home for the past ten years. She is an incoming freshman at Johns Hopkins University, where she will be pursuing a degree in Public Health with a minor in Computational Medicine.
Sofia is passionate about the intersection between artificial intelligence and medicine, and also finding ways to make access to medicine and care more accessible for underserved populations. In her community, she has worked to raise awareness about skin cancer through workshops, donation drives, and sunscreen dispenser installations.
Sofia is a member of the Cum Laude Society (Top 10%), a Columbia University Book Award recipient, and a National Speech and Debate Association Academic All-American. Most recently, she was awarded the 2025 Regional Society of Academic Emergency Medicine Outstanding Research Award.
In her spare time, you can find Sofia going on long runs with friends, reading a good dystopian novel, watching a murder mystery movie, or learning a new language (currently it’s French!). She is looking forward to returning to FPA as an alum this summer and can’t wait to work with everyone!

Karthik is a rising sophomore at NYU, majoring in Dramatic Writing with a minor in Business of Entertainment. He has worked for FPA for four years, handling escape room design, tech support, mannequin care and experiment set up.
